Summary

Meet Gebrill Pierce, skilled as an Illustrator, Character Designer and Concept Artist, this Michigan-born native started drawing at a very young age. Whenever there was complete silence in the house, Gebrill’s mom knew she could always find him tucked away in his room sketching. Over the years, Gebrill became skilled in virtually every medium including, but not limited to, pencil, charcoal, color pencil, paint, pastel, Copic marker, digital, etc. His talent led him to being one of the most sought-after artists in the DFW area, and ultimately led him to being commissioned to design album covers for veteran rock band The Process, as well as numerous local music artists. Gebrill’s artwork not only garnered the attention of national and local music artists, he also caught the attention of local small businesses and was commissioned to design logos for many. He accomplished all of this while focusing on his studies and obtaining his Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from the University of North Texas.
For the past few years, Gebrill participated in various art shows throughout the DFW area and in 2017, his artwork was featured in Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Art Tribute. The amount of buzz he generated from these shows and the Street Fighter feature caught the attention of VoyageDallas magazine who ultimately featured him in their October 18, 2018 article “Art & Life with Prince Gee”. After the VoyageDallas article, everything became a domino effect. He received more commission work and participated in more shows and his name started to become synonymous with the DFW artist community. It was during this time that Gebrill decided he needed to step-up his game. He wanted to dig deeper within himself and do what he could to perfect his craft. He set his sights on attending the ComplexCon Festival in California which he was able to attend in 2019. This event afforded him the opportunity to meet numerous people who are doing what he wants to do which is art for a living. The icing on the cake was when he had the opportunity to meet and have a conversation with his idol, and festival creator, Takashi Murakami. If Gebrill had any doubt about whether he was good enough to make it as an artist in this industry, this one conversation put all of that to rest. He left the conference feeling even more empowered to stay focused, dig deeper and continue to hone his craft.
“My ultimate goal is to provide amazing artwork for video games, movies and TV shows. The very thing that motivated me to do art as a child was seeing artwork from games such as Street Fighter and Tekken and wanting to be able to draw as phenomenal as the artists behind the illustrations and character art such as Bengus, Akiman, and Kinu Nishimura just to name a few. If I can inspire the generation after me through my artwork, then I feel my purpose in life would be fulfilled”.
